The end of 2018 has been an exciting time for Good Ideas.
Five successful Catalyst events were held from September to November, three of these in partnership with universities in Edinburgh (Edinburgh, Queen Margaret and Edinburgh Napier) and one with our partners at Challenges Group. We had the pleasure of hearing from over 50 innovators about their ideas for social change.
Good Ideas Camps followed and we took the highest ever number of delegates onto Camp. There was intensity and fun in equal measure. Mental health, poverty, social inclusion, toxic masculinity, literacy, and sustainability were just some of areas being discussed and there was a buzz in the room from the very start.
“I want you to know that [the facilitation team] were amazing. The structure of the programme was perfect. The length well judged. This was easily the most inclusive and participatory and the course material well curated. Good job and thank you for all the care you have taken in planning and delivery. Such a process is as rewarding as it has ever been.” Will Muir, Equal Community Foundation
A tough decision followed as we chose the 16 ideas proceeding onto Class starting in January. A great group of innovators ready to take their ideas forward. We are pleased to welcome coaches Megan Fraser and TMP member Helen Denny to the team, to facilitate the workshops and to support the Class members as they start to make change.
We’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year. 2019 is set to be an exciting year for social innovation at The Melting Pot!
